Laravel: Task management with migration, input validation, and tests
A small Laravel application with database table, controller, form validation, and view. Tested with Laravel tests and real HTTP calls, plus a cross-check with broken versions.
Sample work (demo), not a client job. Built as a trial task with invented example data; the check figures below come from the automatic test run and are not polished.
What was built
- Migration, model, controller, and routes in the standard Laravel structure
- Inputs validated via a custom request class, errors appear in the form
- Feature tests with artisan test and calls against the running server
- Cross-check: every intentionally broken version is detected

Current Laravel on PHP 8.3; older Laravel versions are not tested. Database only SQLite, MySQL and PostgreSQL were not run. Built-in server instead of Apache or nginx, without queues, scheduler, and Redis. Authentication, Livewire, Inertia, and the frontend build are not tested. The archive contains the custom files, not the vendor folder.
How it was checked
Automatic test run on 2026-11-01, taken from the log (test data invented, figures measured):
- artisan test 11 green, 0 red
- HTTP 29/29 green
- Cross-check 4/4 broken versions detected
Limits
What this sample does not cover, so nobody expects more:
- Laravel 13 (current create-project) on PHP 8.3 - older Laravel versions (5-10) with custom structure/packages not tested
- Database only SQLite; MySQL/PostgreSQL only via configuration, not run
- Built-in server (artisan serve), no Apache/nginx/FPM; no queues/scheduler/broadcasting, no Redis
- Not tested: authentication (Breeze/Jetstream/Sanctum), Livewire/Inertia/Vue frontend, npm/Vite build (Node not set up)
- Packages come from Packagist (network required for the first run); customer projects with private packages require access
- No work on the customer's server without access; result is source code + test proof
