Talking-Head Short: Converting an interview into a vertical clip with subtitles
An excerpt from a freely licensed interview becomes a 9:16 short: the framing follows the head, subtitles appear word by word, accompanied by a headline, name lower-third, source and clean audio.
Sample work (demo), not a client job. Built as a trial task with invented example data; the check figures below come from the automatic test run and are not polished.
What was built
- Framing follows the head, kept steady per camera angle
- Subtitles word by word, the spoken word highlighted
- Audio cleaned and brought to YouTube loudness standards
- Source: ZDF Terra X under free license (attribution, share-alike); recording date visible in the image
How it was checked
Automatic test run on 2026-10-31, taken from the log (test data invented, figures measured):
- 9:16 1080x1920, 29.0 s, -14.4 LUFS, head centered in 6/6 sample checks, Whisper 93 words, NVENC
Limits
What this sample does not cover, so nobody expects more:
- Material provided by client or freely licensed, with source and date
- One speaking person per shot; two-person conversations: speaker changes not yet automatic
