Godot: a 2D dodge game with score, speed and restart
A small 2D game in GDScript: obstacles fall, the player dodges, the speed increases with the score, and after a collision, a restart continues the game. The game logic is automatically tested.
Sample work (demo), not a client job. Built as a trial task with invented example data; the check figures below come from the automatic test run and are not polished.
What was built
- Game loop with input, boundary, obstacles, score and increasing speed
- States Running, Over and Restart, each with its own checks
- Game tests in the Godot editor without a window, cross-check with intentionally broken versions
- The image comes from the actual game window, not from a draft

Drawn shapes without custom images, sounds or animations; 2D only, no multiplayer, no shaders. The tests check the logic, not the game feel. Windows and Web were exported, the Windows file is unsigned; Android, iOS and store publishing are not checked. This is the source code, no exe.
How it was checked
Automatic test run on 2026-11-01, taken from the log (test data invented, figures measured):
- Import ok, syntax check 3/3 scripts error-free
- Game tests 25 checks green (Exit 0)
- Export Windows .exe 109.3 MB, Web index.wasm 39.5 MB + html/js/pck ok
- exported .exe starts ok
- Cross-check 3/3 broken versions detected
- Image rendered with window: 480x640, player pixels 1600, H
Limits
What this sample does not cover, so nobody expects more:
- Godot 4.7.2 Standard (GDScript), not the .NET/C# version; Godot 3.x projects not checked
- only 2D game logic with drawn shapes (no custom images/sounds/animations/tilemaps); 3D, network multiplayer, shaders not checked
- Export only Windows x86_64 and Web (without threads); Android/iOS/macOS/Linux require SDK, signature or target system and are not checked; Windows .exe unsigned, without icon/version data (rcedit …
- Game tests check the logic (step), not the game feel; Web export not played in the browser (files + size only), Steam/itch.io/store publishing not part of the sample
- Image was rendered with a real graphics card window; not possible on computers without OpenGL 3.3
